WHAT IS STONE MASSAGE?

In its current form, Stone Massage started in 1993. However, the concept itself goes back hundreds of years to when Native Americans, Polynesians, and other cultures utilized hot and cold stones on the body to promote good health.

Since 1993, Stone Massage has been a popular spa treatment that combines heat and massage resulting in a unique experience to release muscle tension. Basalt lava rocks are heated to 125-150 degrees and are placed in stationary positions on the spine, chest, and abdomen. The massage therapist uses a heated stone in each hand to massage the rest of the body.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF STONE MASSAGE?

Essentially, the therapy entails simply combining heat with massage. Listed below are some of the established benefits of massage.

-Stimulation of the circulatory, immune, and nervous systems

-Relaxation of tense muscle tissue

-Release of metabolic byproducts "stuck" in tight muscles due to poor circulation

-Relief of pain and muscle spasm

-Induces a state relaxation

Additionally, the heat from the stones increases circulation to tight muscles and assists in softening tense muscle tissue.
